Carnival is fairly new to Jamaica and is imported from the Eastern Caribbean. The week long celebration consists of street dances and parades with a grand finale at the end of the week at the Jamaican national stadium in Kingston. The processions feature colorful floats and people in costumes.

Once a year, Jamaica holds an exciting Carnival similar to that of Trinidad and Tobago, but with a local twist. The Carnival get started in February and runs until mid-April. The event gets bigger each year. The Carnival atmosphere is spread across the island, with lots of bands playing, reggae, calypso, and soca music.
