WORK & STUDY UK
This Work & Study program combines a English course (4 weeks minimum) in several NIK|LAS destination with a job placement after your course in the region of London. 
 
We offer young student travellers the opportunity to experience the English culture firsthand. Learn or improve your English language skills with an in-country course, and later put your new skills to good use while you work in one of the most famous areas of Great Britain.

After your English course (Standard) you will have the opportunity to work in Belfast, allowing you to practise your English while financing your stay in the UK.
 

Candidate's Profile

This program is opened to EU members (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, Republic of Ireland, United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania), ANDORRA, ARGENTINA, AUSTRALIA, BRAZIL, BRUNEI, CANADA, SOUTH KOREA, HOLY SEE, ICELAND, ISRAEL, JAPAN, LIECHTENSTEIN, MEXICO, MONACO, NORWAY, NEW ZEALAND, REPUBLIC OF CROATIA, SAN MARINO, SINGAPORE, SWITZERLAND, U.S.A, HONG KONG (SAR), and MACAO (EAR)

Age between 18-28 years. 

 
Structure of the Program
The NIK|LAS Study & Work Program consists of 2 phases:

1st: Minimum 4 weeks of Standard English language (available in London).
2nd: The Work placement may last 3 months or more (available in Belfast, London, Scotland). 
 
I Part - Course
The program is designed to help improve your effectiveness as a English Speaker, so you can be more efficient in your work post.   
With a higher level of English, you’ll be more likely to land a more interesting and potentially tip-earning position, as a bartender or waiter, for example.  Arrangements can be made to take extra courses before you start your placement.  In order to qualify for the work placement you must have an upper intermediate level of fluency.

II Part: The Work Placement Period

Belfast is the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. Its city centre is small enough to be explored by foot the numerous elegant Victorian buildings, and the various chain stores and shops that pack the streets north of Donegall Square. Music, theatre and the visual arts are all flourishing activities within the scheme of Belfast's day to day. This is one of Britain's most popular tourist destination. Work placements are in the hospitality business, hotels or restaurants in Belfast.

Type of Positions: Bartender, Waiter/Waitress, Receptionist, Kitchen assistant, Waiters’ Assistant (Runner), Hostess (in restaurants, cafes, bars,...)

The work period will be: 2 to 3 months.

Start Dates: March-September.

On-site Language Skill exam fee: $250 USD (For non-beginners, who skip the language course phase)

Placement Fee: $1095 USD
