| This Work & Study program combines a Portuguese course (3 weeks minimum) in several NIK|LAS destination with a job placement after your course in the coastal regions of Portugal. |
 We offer young student
travellers the opportunity to experience the Portuguese culture firsthand.
Learn or improve your Portuguese language skills with an in-country course,
and later put your new skills to good use while you work in a 4 or 5 star
hotel.After your Portuguese course (Standard), you will have the opportunity to work, allowing you to practise your Portuguese while financing your stay in Portugal. |

U.S.A, HONG KONG (SAR), MACAO (EAR) and citizens of THE EUROPEAN UNION (Belgium,
France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Denmark, Republic of Ireland,
United Kingdom, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Finland, Sweden, Cyprus,
Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Slovakia,
Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania). Age between 18-35 years. Participants are expected to be motivated, independent, flexible and open-minded. |
| Structure of the Program |
| The NIK|LAS Study & Work Program consists of 2 phases: 1st: Minimum 3 weeks of Standard Portuguese language (available in Faro, Porto, or Lisbon). 2nd: The Work placement may last 2 months or more (available only in Coastal areas of Algarve, Madeira, Lisbon). |
| I Part - Course |
| The program is designed to help
improve your effectiveness as a Portuguese Speaker, so you can be more
efficient in your work post. With a higher level of Portuguese, you’ll
be more likely to land a more interesting position. Arrangements can be made
to take extra courses before you start your work placement. In order to
qualify for the work placement you must have an upper intermediate level of
fluency. Location: Faro, Lisbon, Porto |
| II Part: The Work Placement Period |
You may work in the coastline of Algarve, the Portuguese island of Madiera, and Lisbon. The area's mild climate is the root attraction that makes it possible to enjoy the beaches and a wide variety of outdoor activities year round. Work placements are in the hospitality industry. |

Type of Positions: Bartender, Waiter/Waitress, Kitchen assistant, room
maid, Assistant (Runner), Hostess, reception, laundry personnel, animator,
maintenance staff, general assistant, restaurant employee, etc. Minimum wage: 200€-400€
including full board accommodation in the hotel Program Fee: $975 USD |
