Work experience is an exciting and challenging way to improve your English, gain insight into US working life and culture and learn new skills.


This is an invaluable opportunity to improve your English and to learn new skills. Designed for students, graduates and young job seekers aged between 18-35. 


There is no salary because the objectives of the program are educational and offer a chance to gain professional experience. Many employers pay for daily travel and/or lunch expenses, but this is not guaranteed.

  • Placements in sales and marketing, business administration, tourism, information technology, hospitality,  Advertising, and Public Relation


The program lasts from 16 - 20 weeks. You begin with a minimum 8 weeks of English Course, followed by a internship placement of 8 - 12 weeks. That is,
  • 8 weeks Course & 8 weeks Work Placement (16 weeks)
  • 8 weeks Course & 12 weeks Work Placement (20 weeks)

Placement Fee: $2060 USD

Length:  16 or 20 weeks




Placements are organized so that students can:

  • Improve fluency & practice your Business English vocabulary at work 
  • Develop specialized vocabulary 
  • Improve intercultural understanding about workplace culture & etiquette 
  •  Gain valuable knowledge of your industry in the US 
  • Meet Americans in your chosen career field 
The work you do will depend on your level of education and qualifications, your skills and experience, and your level of English. Placements are generally in companies in Chicago. Job specifications and workloads vary, but you can expect to have your own responsibilities and perhaps your own project. Companies will interview you during the English Study phase of the program. Students are monitored during their placement and given advice on handling work assignments.

We ask you to specify 2 different areas of interest on your application - flexibility is needed to find a worthwhile placement. We have internship opportunities available in the areas of sales and marketing, business administration, hospitality, tourism, Information Technology, Advertising, and Public Relation. 

Length: 8 or 12 weeks at 40 hours per week


Your Language skill is an important factor in finding a quality work placement. Students must be Lower-Advanced or above to be eligible for the work experience programs. You can choose any of the following English courses: Standard, or Standard Plus. Most companies will want to interview you before offering you a work experience placement and you will need good English to get the most out of your experience. Minimum of 8 weeks English Course.

  • Short essay (1-2 pages): the student has to focus on the kind of experience he/she wants to have, what he/she wants to learn, what kind of internship the student prefers, and why.
